HORSESHOE CRAB PROGRAM.
Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society, 4640 Captree Island, Captree Island. 631-661-4876. 7 pm. Call for age range. Fee: $3 per person. Free for FILPS members. Learn about horseshoe crabs and watch them come ashore to lay their eggs while reveling in the beauty of the evening on a May beach. Reservations required. Tower tours will be available at regular fee.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL & DOLL DISPLAY.
Rock Hall Museum, 199 Broadway, Lawrence. 516-239-1157. 1:30 – 3 pm. “Hitty” is an antique doll featured in popular stories who went on many adventures with her owners. Story time and cloth doll workshop for children featuring “Hitty” and friends.
